Ribadu reveals Tinubu’s security plan

Nuhu Ribadu, the national security adviser, says that President Bola Tinubu, on Monday, charged the security chiefs to ensure adequate security in the country.

The President met Ribadu and the service chiefs, the first time since he appointed them.  They are chief of defence staff, Major-General Christopher Musa; chief of army staff, Major-General Taoreed Lagbaja, chief of naval staff, Rear-Admiral Emmanuel Ogalla, chief of air staff, Air Vice Marshal Hassan Abubakar, and the acting IGP Kayode Egbetokun.

Ribadu, who spoke to state house reporters after the meeting, said that President Tinubu “gave us the assurance that he’s with us one hundred per cent”. He added the President urged teamwork among the security agencies, and said that “he will expect us to deliver.”

‘’We’re going to work tirelessly to ensure we accomplish that objective of securing our country, establishing peace, stability and let’s get our lives back,” Ribadu, a retired police officer and the one-time presidential candidate of the defunct Action Congress, said. Ribadu believes the crime rates in the country is reducing.
