Tribunal to unmask lies told about Tinubu – Keyamo

Festus Keyamo, the spokesperson for the Bola Tinubu presidential campaign, says the presidential election tribunal will provide them a chance to put paid finally to the wrongful assertions said about the president-elect. INEC had announced Tinubu, a former governor of Nigeria’s financial capital, Lagos, as the winner of the February 25 election. However, his opponents- Peter Obi, and Abubakar Atiku, a former Nigerian vice president-are individually seeking the tribunal to declare each of them the winner of the poll.

In his reaction to the petitions filed by Obi and Atiku before the tribunal, Keyamo said it would afford the Tinubu’s camp an opportunity to clear “the deceit & lies & disinformation, and misinformation” about the president-elected.

“Nigerians will finally see the huge difference b/w calm, dispassionate adjudication of issues, and all the hoopla caused by garrulous spokespersons shaking and falling on stage, ignorant TV hosts turned debaters, misinformed documentaries, illiterate tweeps & some dancing Hijabi mamas,” said Keyamo, who doubles as minister (of state) for labour and productivity.

Nigeria’s 2023 elections has come short of the expectations of many citizens, international observers and foreign countries over proliferation of ethnically-charge language, violence, voter intimidation and suppression among others.

But, the Nigerian government has adjudged the election as credible and an improvement of previous ones.
