Tinubu’s generosity to physically-challenged man miscontrued – APC PCC

The All Progressives Presidential Campaign Council says that a video showing its standard-bearer Bola Tinubu offering money to a poor, physically-challenged man at a recent town hall meeting was a mere act of generosity. The council said that critics rather gave a wrong connotation to the compassionate act.

Barrister Hannatu Musa Musawa, the deputy spokesperson for the campaign, said she posted the video to show that Tinubu and his running mate, Kashim Shettima possessed the “empathy and compassion needed to understand the needs of Nigerians and being aware of our feelings and thoughts”.

“That two minutes video clip is a visual reflection of my principals’ compassion towards the needy.

“As I watched this tender moment between the three men, I wanted to capture it and show the world the empathy that organically runs through the veins of my principals, and that raw spirit of charity that they both imbibe,” she said.

The said video sighted by TheCornet shows Tinubu discussing with the elderly, disabled man, who was sandwiched between him and Shettima. He subsequently offered some wads of naira note to the man. Alms giving to the poor and the needy is an obligatory practice for Muslims, as are Tinubu and Shettima.
