DSS arrests El-Rufai’s ally aftermath attack on Gov. Sani

The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested Aisha Galadima, the former women’s leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Kaduna State.

The party in the statement removed Aisha from her position after she criticised Governor Uba Sani on Facebook.

The governor had complained at the huge debt hanging on the government and occasioned by the series of borrowings undertaken by his predecessor, Nasir El-Rufai.

In defence of the former governor, Aisha asked Governor Sani to either quit complaining or resign from office.

A source had told Daily Trust that the secret police picked Aisha up at a residence in the Tudun Wada area of Kaduna on Sunday afternoon. Her telephone lines are said to have been switched off after her arrest.

Media enquiry on Governor Uba Sani about Aisha’s alleged arrest did not yield any result.

Muhammad Lawal Shehu, chief press secretary to the governor, denied any knowledge of the arrest. He said the enquiry should be directed to the DSS, instead.

“I’m not aware that a woman was arrested for posting a negative comment against His Excellency. In any case, you should direct your enquiries to the DSS, not the Kaduna State Government,” he said was reported to have said.
