Soldiers, NSCDC officer arrested for armed robbery

Grace Iringe-Koko, the spokesperson for the Rivers state police command, says that two soldiers and an officer of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) are among 13 persons arrested for armed robbery.

The rogue security officers had reportedly owned up to the crimes.

Some of the suspects had also reportedly hijacked trucks conveying goods and diverted the items.

The stolen items include fertilizers, imported clothing, and POP cement.

Some of the suspects had also broken into a warehouse in Elimgbu community, Ohio/Akpor LGA, the police said.

The police said they recovered the stolen items and a white Toyota Hilux from the hijacking gang.
