Sen. Adeyemi to battle Faleke, others for Kogi governorship ticket

Senator Smart Adeyemi will be contesting the Kogi governorship ticket, alongside Hon. James Faleke and the state’s incumbent chief of staff Abdulkarim Asuku. Adeyemi told journalists after he procured the governorship forms that he possessed “enough experience of what governance should be”.

He said, “I have been lucky to represent my state in the senate three times.”

“It is to my credit that I am one of the lawmakers that have sponsored the highest number of bills passed into law. I have the courage to lead and fight for the survival of the less privileged,” he added.

On his part, Faleke would be making his second run for the coveted office.

The sitting member of the House of Representatives was the running mate to then governor-elect Abubakar Audu, who suddenly died before he could be announce the winner of the 2015 election.

Faleke is currently the secretary of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Presidential Campaign Council and a protege of the party’s flag bearer Bola Tinubu
