Saudi-bound drug mule, enabler arrested in Lagos

A drug mule and his enabler have been arrested by anti-narcotics operatives at the Murtala Mohammed International Airport, Lagos.

The mule, Lawal Lateef Oyenuga, reportedly hid 400grams of cocaine found with him in pairs of palm slippers. He was headed for Mekkah, Saudi Arabia.

Oyenuga said he planned to use his fee from ferrying the drug on paying his child’s examination fee.

His confession led to the arrest of his enabler, Wasiu Sanni Gbolahan (aka Teacher).

The said Gbolahan reportedly recruits couriers for drug barons.

“The Agency’s database reveals Wasiu Sanni (Teacher) has been linked to some previous attempts to traffic cocaine to Saudi Arabia and Dubai, UAE.

“He was earlier named as the one who recruited a BRT driver, Bolajoko Muyiwa Babalola for Lagos socialite and owner of Adekaz Hotels, Alhaji Ademola Afolabi Kazeem (a.k.a Alhaji Abdallah Kazeem Muhammed) to traffic drugs to Dubai,” the NDLEA said.

The 64-year-old Gbolahan works as a housing and property agent.
