Reps plead with US over Ekweremadu

The house of representatives has urged the UK government and parliament to intervene in case involving Senator Ike Ekweremadu and his wife, Beatrice ahead of their sentencing.�

The lawmakers urged theUK court to “temper justice and mercy” in Ekweremadu’s sentencing while they equally urged the federal government totake diplomatic steps on the case.

The Ekweremadus are awaiting sentencing on May 5 at the Central Criminal Court, Old Bailey in the UK.
