PVC collection starts December 12, ends January 2023 – INEC

Nigeria’s electoral umpire says that it would begin to issue voter’s cards to those who registered for them, starting on December 12, 2022.

The exercise, according to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), would hold in its 774 local government offices spread across the country.

Festus Okoye, INEC national commissioner, says the electoral body would release collection dates.

“Consequently, the Commission has fixed Monday 12 December 2022 to Sunday 22 January 2023 as the dates for the collection of PVCs in all the 774 local government offices of the commission throughout the Federation.

“The commission also resolved to devolve PVC collection to the 8,809 registration areas/wards from Friday 6th to Sunday 15th January 2023,” Okoye, who doubles as the chairman, INEC’s Information and Voters Education.

He adds that registrants could collect their voter’s cards at registration areas and electoral, if they are unable to do at the local government offices.

The collection exercise will hold between 9am and 3am, and it would close on January 22, 2023, INEC said
