Zulum implies Tinubu wrongly informed on terrorist activities

Borno State Governor Babagana Zulum has urged President Bola Tinubu to ensure that he listens to “the people who can tell him the right thing”. Zulum, whose state is the hotbed of terrorism, made the statement during a recent television interview.
“We should not politicise insecurity. The President needs to listen to the people who can tell him the right thing. The President should listen to the army,” he stated.
“The President of Nigeria needs to listen to those who can differentiate their left from their right,” the governor added.
The governor also revealed that there are terrorist “informants and collaborators within the Nigerian armed forces, within the politicians, and within the communities.”
He added, “What we shall do is to strengthen our intelligence and to deal with them ruthlessly.
“Let’s remove contractocracy. In six months, we can put an end to this madness. We need not politicise insecurity.” The governor also revealed that the terrorists are better armed than the counter-terrorism Nigeria troops. He recently urged the federal government not to allow Marte, a community in Borno, to fall into the hands of the terrorists.
Nigeria has seen a spike in terrorist and other criminal activities lately. In addition to this, ethnically induced killings by alleged Fulani cattle herders in Plateau, and Benue States have occurred repeatedly in recent times.
