PDP, NNPP see fresh defections in House of Reps

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), and the New Nigeria’s Peoples Party were further depleted with the defection of three members of the house of representatives on Thursday. They all defected to the All Progressives Congress.

The defectors are Hon. Oluwole Oke ( formerly PDP, Osun State) and Hon. Kabiru Rurum (NNPP, Kano), and Abdullahi Rogo (NNPP, Kano).

Presiding, Speaker Tajudeen Abass read out the defectors letters intimating their colleagues of their decision. On his own part, Oke —a sixth term legislator —had in April announced his decision to decamp from the PDP that returned him to the house of representatives six times. He said he took the decision after consulting with his family members and political associates.

On hand to witness the defections are the APC National Chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, and Minister of (State) of the FCT,  Mariya Mahmoud Bunkure, as well as other APC leaders from Kano State.
