Dumping Tinubu for Atiku, impossible – Gov. Buni
By Babajide Adekunle
Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni, has debunked the rumour that he is planning to join former vice president, Abubakar Atiku-led the coalition aiming to stop President Bola Tinubu possible re-election 2027.
Cornet News reports that some former allies of President Tinubu, notably ex-Kaduna governor Nasir El-Rufai, and some opposition figures are coalescing to form a mega political association that will unseat Tinubu.
However, Governor Buni’s director-general of press and media affairs, Mamman Mohammed, dismissed the rumour as “baseless fabrications, unwarranted imagination, and assumptions that did not cross paths with reality in any way, shape, and form”.
He added, “Buni is no ordinary member of APC; he is not just an APC governor. He is APC in all ramifications, with APC flowing in his veins.
“His contributions to building APC as a two-term National Secretary and National Chairman who chaired the party’s convention committee make him unique, and whose imagination of leaving the party cannot be speculated.”
“It must be wishful thinking,” he declared.
