2027: What Nigerian youths should do – Peter Obi
By Babajide Adekunle
Peter Obi, a presidential hopeful, has advised the youth not to “sell their votes” as doing such akin to ‘selling their future’. Obi, at areligious gathering marking the 40th Anniversary of the Catholic Youth Organisation of Nigeria (CYON), held in Onitsha, equally urged eligible youths to register and vote in the next election.
He said, “Your voter’s card is your most powerful weapon against bad leadership. Do not sell your vote—for once you do, you have also sold your healthcare, your education, and your future.” Obi added, “Nigerian youths are no longer content with complaints—they are ready for action.”
“Together, in honesty and determination, we will build the New Nigeria,”
Obi, a Nigerian billionaire, a former governor of Anambra State, and a running mate to former Vice President Abubabakar Atiku in 2019 went to emerge the standard-bearer of the Labour Party in 2023 but lost to the incumbent President Bola Tinubu. Obi has indicated he would, again, vie for the presidency in 2027.
