Policeman, three others killed in Anambra
Unknown assailants have killed a police officer and three other persons in Ukpor, Anambra State, southeast Nigeria.
The incident happened on Monday.
The assailants killed two of their victims in Ukpor, in Nnewi South, and another two near a church situated in Ozubulu community of Ekwusigo council.
The two persons killed in Ukpor, who were said to be siblings, are named Godwin Ikechukwu Modobi and Nnajiofor Modobi.
The motive for killing the siblings is unknown. A family source said “the gunmen first killed Nnajiofor in their house on Monday.”
“They blindfolded and abducted the younger brother, whom they also eventually killed and dumped his body at the centre of the road,” the source claimed.
Spokesperson for the Anambra State Police Command, Ikenga Tochukwu confirmed the incident, including the slain police officer.
The killing comes a week after the cold-blooded murder of five persons in Ukpor. One of the dead in last week’s incident was a female police officer.
