Police probe woman’s death following failed butt enlargement procedure

Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos Police Command, says a woman identified as Mrs. Abiola had died after taking an injection for butt enlargement. The police became aware of the incident after the deceased’s driver made a complaint.

Narrating the incident, Hundeyin said a driver took the late Mrs. Abiola, 36, from her residence at Diamond Estate, Sangotedo, to a clinic in Lekki Phase 1.

On getting to the hospital, the clinic’s proprietor reportedly directed a staff nurse to inject the woman.

But, shortly after the nurse did, “Mrs. Abiola became unconscious and began gasping for breath.”

Hundeyin said, “Despite immediate efforts to rescue her and transport her to a nearby hospital in Lekki Phase I, Mrs. Abiola was pronounced dead by the attending physician.” He also stated that the police had arrested the affected nurse.

The woman’s corpse was deposited in a morgue, pending when an autopsy would be done.
