Police officer who killed Lagos man ‘arrested’

The Lagos State Police Command said they arrested a police officer who shot a citizen, Gafaru Buraimoh, to death.

The incident happened at about 11:30pm on Monday at the Happy Land Estate, Ajah, the police said.

The unnamed killer cop is attached to the Ajah Police Division in Lagos.

Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the state police command, said the authorities had contacted the victim’s family.

“The Command, while commiserating with the family of the deceased over the avoidable and most unfortunate incident, gives assurances that the already commenced investigation into the immediate and remote circumstances leading to the shooting will be brought to a speedy and conclusive end, while equally ensuring that justice is served,” Hundeyin, a superintendent, said in his statement.
