Police go after cultists who beheaded youth leader
The police said they have launched a manhunt for cultists who beheaded Hezekiah John Adaiden, the youth president of the Inen clan in OrukAnam Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State.
Report has it that the victim was killed at about 1 am on Sunday while he was hosting his peers at his residence.
Adaiden was reportedly beaten to stupor by the assailants who also severed his head from his body.
The attackers are said to have also looted Adaiden’s house, beat up his wife and carted away valuables items.
TheCable in its report quoted a source as saying that no one knew what led to the gruesome murder of the victim.
“The cultists arrived at the compound at a very odd hour in the night.
“Since they are known by the youth president, he offered them drinks.
“While they were drinking at about 1am, another armed group arrived and were very violent as they dragged the victim to a corner and killed him.
“They beheaded him and escaped with the head after they tortured the wife and poured hot soup on her head as they beat her mercilessly, he said.
Police spokesman, Odiko Mcdon, a Superintendent of Police, said that “there is an ongoing manhunt to arrest perpetrators of such crime.”
