Police comb canal for missing corpseÂ

The Ogun State police command has said that its men had unsuccessfully combed a canal for a missing corpse believed to have been dumped there.

The canal is located in Temidire community, in the Ifo Local Government Area of the state.

Omotola Odutola, public relations officer of the command, said, “Our men went to the house and discovered a two-year-old boy in a welfare facility.

“Meanwhile, our men combed the entire canal in search of the body, but we haven’t found anything,” she added.

The corpse was said to be that of a woman, who was reportedly knocked over by a hit-and-run driver some days before she passed away.

Following her passing, her landlord, Bola Abiodun, and his wife allegedly dumped her corpse into the canal without making a report to the police.

The alarm raised other residents, who discovered the corpse, led to Abiodun and his wife fleeing the area.
