Peter Obi fetes Anyaoku at 90

Labour Party presidential candidate Peter Obi has feted senior citizen Emeka Anyaoku, who clocked 90 years old.

Chief Anyaoku is a retired diplomat and former secretary-general of the Commonwealth – an association of former British colonies.

Obi, in his remarks, said Anyaoku promoted good governance and entrenchment of democracy across the world. The presidential candidate recalled Anyaoku “fought doggedly for the return of democracy in Nigeria in 1999.”

Obi added that Nigeria owes Anyaoku “a debt of gratitude” and “still needs your experience and invaluable contributions to navigate the forthcoming elections and other governance issues.”
