Suspected homosexuals arrested in Borno

Some suspected homosexuals have been arrested in Borno State while allegedly planning a gay wedding.

The suspects were arrested in Gwange area of the state on Saturday.

Ibrahim Burma shuwa, the councillor representing Mashamari ward in Jere Local Government Area of the state, was said to have led the police to arrest the alleged homosexuals.

A Facebook user, Mohammed Tijjani,  who shared the story wrote on his wall: “Homosexuality is a taboo in the culture of Kanem, Borno, and the whole world at large, the punishment from religion perspectives of both Muslim and Christians are severe resulting to killing etc.”

“Remember sodom and Gomara of Biblical era, where a whole nation was turned upside down,” he wrote.

The Borno Police Command are yet to comment on the arrest.
