Pastor’s quicker way to Jesus causes mass deaths

A pastor, Paul Makenzi, had told congregants at his Good News International Church, in Kenya, to fast to death as a way of meeting Jesus.
Kenyan authorities said they exhumed 47 persons buried in shallow graves on a parcel of land owned by Makenzi.
The pastor has a notoriety for telling his congregants to fast to death and had been arrested in 2019, and last March following deaths of his members including children.
Speaking on the discovery, Malindi Sub-County police chief John Kemboi said more shallow graves on the land owned by the pastor arrested on April 14 for cult-related activities still need to be dug up.
Police discovered 15 malnourished people in the church. Four of them died shortly later.
