Opposition legislators stage walkout over move to raise CBN borrowing to FG

Some opposition legislators staged a walkout during plenary on Wednesday, due to disagreement on what the percentage of ways and means to the national budget should be. Ways and means are short-term financing of federal government projects by the Central Bank of Nigeria.
The opposition representatives, led by Minority Leader Kingsley Chinda, proposed that the percentage should be reduced to two percent of the budget. The APC members, who constitute the majority in the lower parliament, however raised it to 10 percent of the national budget.
