Opposition group seeks to deepen ties with Tinubu, Sanwo-Olu

A group of opposition political parties under the aegis of the Forum of Political Parties (FPP) has stated its support for President Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State.

In a statement signed by Kola Ajayi and Comrade Sola Omolola, chairman and secretary of the FPP respectively, the group commended Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu for endorsing “Yoruba National Week”, which aims to promote the culture of Yoruba race.

The event will “showcase Yoruba culture, including traditional attire, music, dance, cuisine and other cultural expressions.

This programme will be held in the last week of September,” the statement said. Also, the group said the social intervention scheme, ‘Eko Cares’, by Governor Sanwo-Olu to provide succor to 300,000 households is commendable.

FPP then urges the governor to extend to it the patronage previous administrations had accorded it.

“We enjoin Governor Sanwo-Olu to reach out to smaller political parties through their agglomeration, such as FPP, IPAC, COPPILS.”

As stakeholders, we want the government to see us as partners in progress in the advancement of good governance to the people.”

The group also pleaded with Nigerians to show understanding with President Bola Tinubu in his effort to tackle the myriads of economic challenges facing the country.
