Ondo pastor accused of killing church member

A magistrate court sitting in Ondo State, on Friday, has heard how a pastor allegedly killed a church member.

The said pastor, Sarah Abuloye, 49, reportedly murdered 37-year-old Adefunle Aselogbon, before dumping her corpse in a bush located behind her church.

As stated in the charge sheet, Abuloye “did conspire” with others to murder the deceased.

Her conspirators are said to be on the run.

The incident took place on January 6, 2022, according to police prosecutor Obalasa Ajiboye.

Ajiboye stated that the offence stands contrary to and punishable under Section 319(1) of the Criminal Code, Cap. 37, Vol. 1, Laws of Ondo State of Nigeria, 2006.

He urged the court to remand the defendant in prison pending advice from the state’s Director of Public Prosecutions.

Defendant’s counsel Ola Adedire did not oppose the prosecutor’s application.
