Ogun female kidnapper nabbed
The Ogun police command has arrested a woman suspected of kidnapping a child in the Agbara area of the state.
The suspect, Mariam Ayila, 27, reportedly kidnapped a 13-year-old girl while on an errand for her father. She subsequently called the victim’s father and demanded a ransom of N250, 000 before she would release her.
The father, Ismail Yusau, decided to lodge a complaint with the Agbara Police Division on the matter.
Abimbola Oyeyemi, the spokesperson for the police command, said that detectives nabbed the suspect at her hideout in the Atan ota area of the state.
“Preliminary investigation revealed that the suspect had once kidnapped a young girl at Itele ota area on the 19th of December 2022. She reportedly collected ransom before releasing the said victim.
The police said they are investigating the suspect further.
