Lagos dad, son arrested for cybercrime

A father, alongside his son, has been arrested for cybercrime in Lagos. They are Emmanuel Jayeoba (father), and Ademola Jayeoba, the son.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) accused the suspects of being involved in illegal banking activities.

The agency said it arrested the suspects on July 28, 202,2 at Silver Spring Estate, in the Agungi area of Lagos state.

The EFCC said it received credible intelligence on the activities of some members of an organized cybercrime network, leading to the arrest.

The anti-graft body also said it recovered from the Jayeobas exotic cars, mobile devices and laptops.

 

Similarly, a court sitting in Benin, Edo state, has convicted and jailed six persons, including a man impersonating an American actor.

The EFCC had charged the convicts with involving in internet fraud.

They are Emejom Jude Chinomso, Okolie Collins, Hezekiah Oghenekume, Musa Dauda, Akinselure Adebayo and Obafemi Oluwatosin.
