Obama endorses Kamala Harris for US presidential race

U.S. Vice President Kamala Harris has secured the endorsement of former president Barrack Obama. Barrack and his wife Michelle had put a call through to Harris, promising to join her on the campaign train in the months ahead.

Obama followed up with a post on X, saying, “Earlier this week, Michelle and I called our friend @KamalaHarris

“We told her we think she’ll make a fantastic President of the United States, and that she has our full support.

“At this critical moment for our country, we’re going to do everything we can to make sure she wins in November. We hope you’ll join us,” he said.

Harris had suddenly turned a political sensation following President Joe Biden dropping out of race and endorsing Harris to be the Democratic Party’s candidate for the November poll. Soon after doing so, Harris has attracted growing support from DP’s bigwigs and she seems to be getting ahead of Republican Party challenger Donald Trump in various national polls.

Trump has turned the heat on Harris, accusing her of concealing information on Biden’s health. He also filed a complaint with the Federal Elections Commission, seeking to stop Harris from inheriting Biden’s campaign fund.
