Nigerian police officers arrested for kidnapping

The Nigeria Police have announced the arrest of two female officers involved in kidnapping of minors. The rogue officers are attached to the Sokoto State Police Command in northern Nigeria.

Ahmad Rufai, spokesperson for the command, strangely failed to give the full names of the officers, who he simply referred to ASP Kulu and Elizabeth.

One of the suspects, Elizabeth, was traveling with five kids in an 18-seater bus. The bus headed for Abuja, Nigeria’s federal capital. The crying of a two-week-old baby among the victims attracted other passengers, who urged Elizabeth to breastfeed her. Unable to do so, other travelers became suspicious of her and began to interrogate her. It lead to her arrest and subsequently that of Kulu.

“Both the suspects and victims were transferred and handed over to the command from FCT police command for further investigation into the matter,” Rufai said.
