Green Energy’s boss Prof. Adegbulugbe bags ‘Excellence Award’

The Obafemi Awolowo University, OAU, Ile-Ife, has said it is honoring the Chairman of Green Energy International Limited, Professor Anthony Adegbulugbe, with its maiden ‘Award of Excellence in Research Practice’

OAU’s vice chancellor, Professor Adebayo Banire, said in a letter that Adegbulugbe’s “outstanding successes and hallmark of excellence” qualified him for the prestigious award.

“The Excellence in Research Award is a prestigious award given to an alumnus of the university with an outstanding record of knowledge-based accomplishment at global and national level. Your selection is based on your outstanding contribution to the society and particularly the energy sector in Nigeria and globally,” the VC, Prof. Banire stated.

The award recipient, Adegbulugbe graduated with a first class from the Electrical and Electronics department of the then University of Ife (now, OAU).  During his student’s days, Adegbulugbe took part in student’s union politics and, at a time, the speaker of the student representatives’ council.

He equally bagged a doctor of science degree (DSC) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), USA and, subsequently, awarded a professorship in energy planning and economics from OAU.

Adegbulugbe is known to have contributed to The Intergovernmental Panel On Climate Change (IPPC) Assessment Reports that won the organisation the prestigious Nobel Prize in 2007.
