Nigeria Police mourn Guri, Adebayo

The Nigeria Police have expressed their “sorrow” over the passing of retired Commissioner of Police Alayeluwa Oba Emmanuel Adebayo FCIA, JP, the Elemure of Emure Ekiti, and Deputy Commissioner of Police Abubakar Mohammed Guri.
TheCornet reports that Guri died after he slumped at the NPF headquarters in Abuja.
A police statement issued on Wednesday conveyed sympathy of Inspector-General of Police, Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, over the deaths.
As per the statement, Alayeluwa Oba Emmanuel Adebayo, who was a former Commissioner of Police, died on May 30, 2024.
“His Majesty’s tenure as both a traditional leader and a police commissioner has left a lasting legacy on our nation. His remarkable wisdom, steadfast leadership, and unwavering dedication to public service will forever be cherished,” the police said in the statement.
The other, Guri, had “served diligently as the Deputy Commissioner of Police at the Police Mobile Force, Force Headquarters, Abuja, until morning of June 3rd, 2024.”
“DCP Guri was known for his compassion, punctuality, and unwavering commitment to his duties. His exemplary service to our country will continue to inspire all who knew him.
On behalf of the entire Nigeria Police Force, the IGP extends heartfelt condolences and pray that “the souls of these noble men rest in eternal peace.”
