Nigeria Air to land in Abuja Friday – Report

Nigeria Air, the newly introduced national carrier, is set to fly from Ethiopia into Nigeria’s federal capital, Abuja. Daily Trust claimed that a source had told it about the flight to the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja.

This equally confirms the statement made by the minister of aviation some days ago about the flight.  Sirika had said on Channels television breakfast show that the flight would herald Nigeria Air’s operations in the aviation market.

“We will on that day (Friday) unveil this aircraft, the livery and everything in Nigeria’s colours, belong to Nigeria Air and we will proceed to go and do the retrofit and bring back those airplanes,” Sirika had said.

The government’s decision to float the Nigeria Air has attracted legal challenge from the Airline Operators of Nigeria (AON). The body is challenging the shareholding structure of the new national carrier.

The AON, on Thursday, described the floating of the airline as an illegality in their its letter to President Muhammadu Buhari.
