NDLEA makes Christmas drug haul

The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) says it intercepted a consignment of hard drugs, identified as Colorado, at the Tin Can Seaport in Lagos.

The agency said the drugs, concealed in imported vehicles from Montreal, Canada, were meant t o be distributed during the Christmas festivity. It also announced the seizure of packs of cannabis juice weighing 16.50kg and flown into the country from South Africa.

In connection with the two separate seizures, the anti-narcotics agency said it arrested 12 suspects, including two dockworkers and a wine shop businessman.

“Investigations led to the arrest of four freight agents, namely Soremekun Olalekan Wasiu, Olufisayo Dayo, Moruf Olusegun Bashir, and Imole Moses Ajayi. The arrested persons led the anti-narcotics agents to a wine shop operator Emebede Chuka.
