Wike recalls FCT IRS Acting Chairman Michael Ango, Education Mandate Secretary

Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has recalled Michael Ango, the acting chairperson of the FCT Internal Revenue Service (FCT-IRS) after initially removing him from his position. Ango, who had previously worked with global tax and accounting firm Andersen, was tapped by President Bola Tinubu to lead the FCT IRS over a year ago.

Likewise, the minister reinstated Dr Danlami Hayyo, the Mandate Secretary for Education in the FCT, who was also sacked at the time.
A spokesperson for Wike, Lere Olayinka, stated this in a statement he issued on Wednesday. I the statement, Olayinka said that Wike warned all the staff of the FCT against committing any act of indiscipline.
President Bola Tinubu approved Ango’s appointment as Acting Chairman of the FCT-IRS on August 9th, 2024.
