What I discussed with Tinubu in Rome – US Envoy

Massad Blulous, the United States Senior Advisor for Arab and African Affairs, has revealed the detail of his meeting with Nigerian leader Bola Tinubu at the just concluded Aqaba Summit, held in Rome.
In a post on X, Boulous said that the encounter focused on deepening the “U.S.-Nigeria partnership” and reaffirming “shared vision for a more secure and prosperous future.”
Boulous further said that the US and Nigeria are “working to expand our bilateral trade and develop a business climate that attracts U.S. investment, supports Nigeria’s long-term growth, and strengthens regional prosperity.”
Another highlight of their meeting, as Boulous said, is how to ensure “close coordination on counterterrorism efforts in the Sahel, Lake Chad Basin, and Gulf of Guinea, underscoring our joint commitment to stability and security.”
“Our conversation also highlighted Nigeria’s rich religious diversity, including its deep-rooted Christian community. The U.S. and Nigeria will continue working together to turn shared commitments into lasting progress on peace, security, and prosperity across the region,” he said.
Cornet News reports that Boulous had mentioned on the sideline of the Aquaba Summit that the view expressed by US Senator Ted Crux on religious genocide in Nigeria did not reflect that of the United State Government.
In his statement, Cruz alleged deliberate extermination of Christians. However, Blulous disagreed, saying the US government was aware that the terrorists have actually killed more Muslims.
