3 women, 2 men confirmed dead as collapsed Lagos building death toll rises

Five persons have died from the collapse of a three-storey building, located at 9 & 10 Oremeta Street, in the Ojodu-Berger area of Lagos on Saturday.

Also, 12 injured persons have been pulled out of the rubble as the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency (LASEMA), and other emergency responders are continuing their rescue efforts extending into Sunday.

The ill-fated building housed a popular restaurant in the area, where many of the victims were trapped.

The cause of the collapse is still unknown and under investigation.
