N2bn vote buying claim against me false – Ladi Adebutu

Ladi Adebutu, the 2023 Peoples Democratic Party’s governorship candidate for Ogun state, has denied splurging N2billion to buy votes during the poll.

Adebutu’s spokesperson, Afolabi Orekoya, stated this, according to a report.

Orekoya accused Governor Dapo Abiodun and his party, the All Progressives Congress (APC) of frustrating his petition challenging the outcome of the poll.

Nigeria’s electoral umpire had declared Abiodun the winner but Adebutu continues to fault the declaration.

Adebutu has reportedly sued Abubakar Malami, the attorney-general of the federation and minister of justice; Inspector-General of Police Usman Baba; Director of the State Security Services, Yusuf Bichi, and Chairman, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, Abdulrasheed Bawa.

The opposition politician accused the security chiefs of maligning him. He also wants a leaked investigative report linking him to vote buying probed.

Adebutu is the son of wealthy lotto mogul Chief Kessington Adebutu, popularly known as ‘Baba Ijebu’.
