Mother throws newborn into toilet

A mother is accused of throwing her newborn baby into her neighbour’s toilet. Getrude Chisanu, the baby’s mother, reportedly committed the act on New Year’s Day.

The baby however survived, after a neighbour who heard the newborn crying pulled her out.

The rescuer decided to alert other neighbours to the incident. The baby was taken to a hospital, where she was stabilized.

The incident happened in Chisanu, Zimbabwe.

It is known whether the police preferred charges against the 26-year-old mother for attempting to murder her child.
