Mother, daughter kidnapped
Kidnappers have taken captives a mother and her daughter in Kaduna State.
The mother, identified as Eng. Ramatu Abarshi, offers humanitarian services to poor and the less privileged.
She was returning from Mariri community in Lere Local Government Area of the state, where she distributed food and other things to the poor when the kidnap took place.
Also kidnapped along with Abarshi and her daughter is the driver of the chattered vehicle they were travelling on.
“She exchanged pleasantries with dozens of people in Mariri and posed for pictures with many people before they left in the evening,” a source said.
Daily Trust reported that armed bandits double-crossed by the vehicle they were in before whisking them away.
The newspaper also said the kidnappers have contacted the Abarshi’s family, demanding N100million ransom for their release.
