Military shuns Nigeria police, detains truck driver for killing soldier

The military in Lagos have shunned the state’s police command as it detains a truck driver for crushing a soldier to death at Orile area of the state. According to Daily Trust, the killer driver had attempted to avoid some extortionists on his way when he unknowingly ran over the ill-fated soldier. The driver reportedly fled the scene in his vehicle but some soldiers chased him down to Mile 2 bus stop and eventually arrested him.
Benjamin Hundeyin, spokesperson for the Lagos police command, in his comment, said that the soldiers failed to hand over the suspect to the police.
