Peter Obi to speak in US

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has announced he would be speaking at some engagements in the United State.

“I’m a guest speaker on the Role of Nigerian Diaspora in Development and Growth of Nigeria, events being organised by Nigerians in Diaspora.

“The events will hold in Charlotte, North Carolina and Dallas, Texas on Wednesday, August 31; Washington D.C. on Thursday, September 1; Atlanta on Friday, September 2  and New York on Saturday, September 3,” Obi stated.

Obi’s popularity and approval for his candidacy has soared, especially, among the youths. Obi’s supporters continue to stage marches in different Nigerian cities apparently to contradict his critics’ derision that he lacked the political structure to win the 2023 presidential poll.

The former governor of Anambra state dumped the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to pick the LP ticket. In 2019, Obi paired as running mate to PDP presidential candidate Atiku Abubakar but both lost the election to incumbent President Muhammadu Buhari.

Atiku again emerged the PDP flagbearer in 2022 and, this time around, would contesting the presidency against his former ally (Obi), among others.
