Man kills another over adultery

Daniel Udoh, 38, has allegedly killed a man who accused him of adulterous relationship with his wife.

The incident happened at the Onipanu area of Ifo Local Government Area of Ogun State.

The deceased, identified as Emeka Umonko reportedly confronted Udoh, accusing him of having an amorous affair with his wife.

According to Abimbola Oyeyemi, a deputy superintendent of police, the issue degenerated into a fight between the two men.

Udoh, a commercial bus driver, allegedly reached for a knife with which he repeatedly stabbed Umonko in his back and chest.

Umonko was rushed to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Oyeyemi said, “Upon the distress call, the DPO, Onipanu division, CSP Bamidele Job, quickly detailed his men to the scene, where the suspect was promptly arrested, and the knife recovered as an exhibit”, said Oyeyemi.

He added that the “remains of the victim were subsequently deposited at the Ifo General Hospital mortuary for post-mortem examination.”

The suspect, said the police spokesperson, will be charged to court on the conclusion of investigation into the death.
