Lagos robbery kingpin makes revelation

A robbery kingpin operating in Lagos State has revealed his areas of operations to the police.

The suspect, Wale Ajepe, told operatives attached to the Rapid Response Squad (RRS) that he is the leader of a robbery gang that attacks victims at China Town area of the metropolis and other places, such as  MKO Garden; Ojota Bridge; and Motorways Road.

He allegedly confessed he and his gang members attack their victims both at night and at dawn.

According to the RRS, it arrested Ajepe while he and two other armed gang members attempted to rob a truck driver and his assistant at a spot in inward Ketu area at about 11: 45 p.m on Wednesday.

While RRS succeeded in arresting the 30-year-old, his two accomplices fled the scene.

“Ajepe, a resident of 21, Taiwo Street, off China Town, Ogudu has disclosed to be (sic) the leader of a clique operating around China Town, MKO Garden, Ojota Bridge and Motorways at night and dawn”, the RRS tweeted.

The anti-crime operatives said they are equally on the manhunt for the two fleeing robbers. Some of the respondents to the tweet identified other dangerous spots around the metropolis.

A tweep, Taoufiq Olagunju nudged the operatives to equally beam their searchlight on Obanikoro-Anthony axis, along Ikorodu Road

“They attack motorists with broken down cars along Obanikoro-Anthony along Ikorodu road in broad daylight as well. I’d been attacked on that axis twice,” Olagunju claimed.

Another, Olaniyi Samson Abiola said, “Thank you always. They (the criminals) are much (sic) under Otedola Bridge and Berger area.

Olalekan Adeyemi, equally appreciated the operatives for the arrest, adding that crime fighting is the duty of government and the citizens.
