Lagos PDP guber aspirant Ade Dosunmu quits party

Following his withdrawal from the contest for the Peoples Democratic Party governorship ticket for Lagos state, Ade Dosumu has quit the party.

TheCornet reports that Dosumu and three other aspirants had complained about the governorship primaries, hence their withdrawal.

The primaries held Wednesday and Jide Adediran emerged the party’s flagbearer.

Dosumu, on Thursday, resigned from the PDP.

A report has linked the former PDP governorship aspirant to the fast rising New Nigeria People’s Party, founded by Senator Rabiu Kwakwanso.

“I am writing to inform you of my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with effect from today, Thursday 26th May, 2022,” Dosumu stated in his letter, addressed to the party chairman.

“A copy of this letter has been conveyed to the Chairman of Ward ‘B’ Apapa Local Government, Lagos State.

“The past 23 years have spent as a member of this party had been interesting until recently when I realised that my ideals are no longer aligning with what obtains in the party.

“I hereby thank you personally for your sincerity and disposition towards upholding the constitution of the party despite all odds,” he wrote.
