Kwara woman tells how she was raped three times in the bush
A young woman from Kwara State, in north-central Nigeria, has narrated her rape ordeal in a bush.
Mansurat Elega, 25, hails from Olupo farm settlement, Eruku, in Ekiti Local Government Area of the state.
In the investigation story published by ICIR, Elega said gun-wielding kidnappers barged into her room while she was sleeping.
The intruders led Elega into the bush, as she would later identify one of them to be Salihu –her suitor.
Prior to her kidnap, Elega said Salihu had wooed her but she turned him down.
“Salihu led the three other people that kidnapped me. He is a farmer and works as a security guard.
“He said he wanted to marry me, but I didn’t like him; he swore to deal with me.
“He raped me thrice in the bush,” said Elega, reportedly.
Two days after the kidnap, security operatives stormed the kidnapper’s den.
Elega said the operatives shot at Salihu, but he escaped with a bullet wound.
“I have not seen nor hear from him since then, “she said about the September 24, 2021 incident.
