Kidnapper Evans sentenced to 21 years imprisonment

Chukwudumeme Onwuamadike, alias Evans, has been sentenced to 21 years imprisonment for kidnapping. Also sentenced is Evans’ collaborator, Victor Aduba.

Justice Oluwatoyin Taiwo of the Ikeja Special Offences Court delivered the ruling on Monday.

Taiwo convicted Evans and Aduba based on the allegation that they conspired to kidnap Sylvanus Ahanonu Hafia on June 23, 2014, at Kara Street, Amuwo Odofin in Lagos.

They convicted men reportedly asked for $2m ransom to free their victim. The arrest of Evans brought an end to his criminal reign in the underworld. Leading Evans arrest was the now disgraced police officer Abba Kyari, who himself is under lawful custody over his involvement in drug trafficking.
