Katsina terrorists fine villagers N10m for killing their member 

The police in Katsina state have revealed how a group of terrorists placed a fine of N10million (Ten Million Naira) on residents of Gobirawa village in the Faskari Local Government Area of Katsina State.

According to the police report, a lone terrorist carrying an AK 47 rifle invaded a farmland and attacked the owner, known as Yahaya Danbai.

Yahaya overpowered his assailant, took over his weapon, and killed him.

Yahaya later took the weapon he recovered from the terrorist to the house of the ward head, identified Surajo Madawaki.

Unbeknownst to him and the other villagers, Surajo was in alliance with the terrorists.

Learning of their member’s death in the hands of Yahaya, Hamisu who leads the terrorists group decided to invade the village.

At the village, Surajo, the ward head, betrayed Yahaya to the terrorists and he was killed instantly.

Not done, Hamisu and his gang placed the hefty multi-million naira fine on the hapless villagers as punishment for killing their member.

They threatened to kill all the villagers if the fine was not paid.

The villagers suddenly became aware of Surajo’s conspitorial role, which made him run away from the community.

“Since then (the incident) the said Ward Head, Surajo Madawaki went into hiding, until he was eventually arrested by a team of policemen,” Isah Gambon, the spokesperson for the Katsina Police Command, stated.

Similarly, the police said they have arrested one Kamala Bashir, who works as an informant to the same terrorists’ leader Hamisu.

The 19-year-old Bashir was riding a motorcycle into the forest to deliver a message to Hamisu, when police operatives stopped him.

“In the course of investigation, the suspect confessed to be an informant and errand boy of the notorious terrorist,  Hamisu, ‘M’, of Munhayen Daji, Zamfara state.

“He further confessed that the said motorcycle was bought to him by the said terrorists’ leader, for the purpose of running errand for him,” the police said.
