Journalist Azuh Arinze names Osoba chairman of his birthday lecture

Azuh Arinze, a journalist, publisher and author, has revealed former governor Olusegun Osoba would be the chairman of his 50th birthday lecture on March 24, 2022.

The event, which will see Arinze launch two books he authored, will hold at the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs, Kofo Abayomi Street, Victoria Island, Lagos, by 11AM .

“Former governor of Ogun State and one of Nigeria’s most iconic journalists, Chief Olusegun Osoba, has graciously accepted to chair the event, Arinze said on Facebook.

“Aremo, I must confess, has been exceedingly nice to me since our paths crossed – and I am eternally grateful to him,” said Arinze.

One of the books, “A TASTE OF SUCCESS” urges tenacity in the pursuit of success.  Arinze reasons that success does not occur by wishing thinking. He said it rather requires deliberate, determined, and sustained efforts.

“Success, naturally, will never happen, manifest or flourish in a wrong atmosphere or setting. And that’s the gospel truth.

“As rational beings, we know what is correct, yet we most times end up doing what is not and/or what we should not do,” he said.

Arinze’s other book, CONVERSATIONS WITH SHOWBIZ STARS, details his several encounters with showbiz personalities.

Writing the forward to the book, journalist and former commissioner for information in Lagos State,

Steve Ayorinde, a respect journalist in his forward note, said the book “speaks lucidly about the quality of shining stars within Azuh’s orbit and his fierce commitment to the brand of journalism that eminently fulfils the objectives of the profession – to inform, educate and entertain.”

Ayorinde, a former former commissioner for information in Lagos State, said he believes that the book “is even more pertinent especially in this social media age so as not to leave the shaping of media narrative about our entertainment celebrities solely to the neatly-curated but sometimes inchoate account from their social media handles.”

Arinze is the publisher of Yes International magazine. He cut his teeth in journalism as a reporter with Encomium magazine several years ago.
