An anger-filled fast-food attendant, Elijah Mackey, has shot a customer dead following a spat between the duo at the Checkers, in Florida, United States.
A customer, Wesley Robertson, 40, had complained to Mackey that mayonnaise packet was missing from the food he bought.
While Robertson stood at the window, Mackey came around to the front of the building and began arguing with him.
During the spat, Robertson reportedly used a vulgar word on Mackey. Filled with his own rage, 23-year-old Mackey pulled gun and shot Robertson in the chest.
He immediately fled the scene and hid himself under a stairwell at a nearby hotel. Acting on a distress call, the police got the scene and found Mackey where he had hid himself. Mackey is facing a first-degree murder, as per Law&Crime.
Mackey’s employers, in a statement, said: “We are shocked and saddened by the incident that occurred last night at our restaurant in Kissimmee, Florida,” the statement said.
“The actions of this one employee do not reflect the values of the thousands of our hardworking employees across the country. We are working closely with the police in their investigation, and we are sending our thoughts and prayers to the guest’s family,” it adds.
