Biafra ‘prime minister’ Ekpa declares war on Enugu gov, police ( see video)

Simon Ekpa, the factional leader of the Indigenous Peoples of Biafra (IPOB), has in a new video obtained by TheCornet declared that Enugu Governor Peter Mbah ‘will not remain’ in power.

Ekpa, a self-styled ‘prime minister of Biafra government in exile’, equally urged Igbo of the southeastern part of the Nigeria to attack police and police checkpoints wherever they are.

The Finland-based Ekpa was responding to the killing of one person by security operatives who moved to ensure markets were open, in defiance of Ekpa’s sit-at-home order.

Ekpa’s video came in the wake of the killing by law enforcement of a young man identified as Bonaventure in Enugu.

He said, “On this note, Biafra government in exile and the Biafra government in the homeland from the office of the prime minister of the Biafra Republic in exile, I hereby declare every police checkpoint banned in the entire Biafra land including Enugu state.

“Everywhere you see them engage them in self defence with everything available and everything at your own disposal.”

He added, “(Governor Peter) Mbah will not remain in the government house of Enugu state.”

The Nigerian Senate on Wednesday resolved to lead an investigation into the sponsors of the sit-at-home protest.
