I’m closer to victory, says Peter Obi

Peter Obi, the Labour Party presidential candidate, has said he is ‘one step closer to victory’ as the general election draws near.

He encouraged his supports to ensure they get their Permanent Voters Card as the Independent National Electoral Commission extends the deadlines of collection till January 29.

He said, “Fellow Nigerians, we are one step closer to victory. In order to exercise your constitutional right to elect me as your President, you must vote. In order to vote, you must collect your PVC.”

Obi’s optimism of defeating other candidates in the race comes in the wake of the support declared by the Lagos chapter of the Nigerian Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress for another presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu and Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu.

Ironically, the unions own Labour Party while Obi expects to harvest chunk of votes from their members.
